Free Advent Devotional PDF: 25 Days to Prepare Your Heart for Christmas

Looking for a simple way to prepare your heart for Christmas? Our free Advent devotional PDF offers 25 days of Scripture, reflection, response, and prayer to enjoy on your own or with family.

This devotional began with a customer’s request in 2025. She wanted something special to give her friends and family—something that would help them celebrate Advent and prepare their hearts for Christmas. I created the printable during our busy holiday season, and offering a finished version didn’t occur to me at the time.

Then, in 2026, another customer shared that she had purchased the printable the year before but never completed the project because she doesn’t enjoy crafts. Would we consider making it for her? I thought it was a great idea! We created a finished set of devotional cards with a little wooden easel and a keepsake tin, making it available to her and others who would enjoy having everything ready to use.

Since personalization is such a core part of what we do at inAWE, I also offered the option to add a name to the cover and a message inside. She hadn’t asked for those touches, but when I suggested them, she was delighted.

Alongside these options, I wanted to share the devotional as a free resource. inAWE is as much a ministry as it is a business, and it brings me joy to share encouragement rooted in God’s Word. My hope is that these daily readings help you pause, draw closer to Jesus, and prepare your heart for Christmas.

Come, Let Us Adore Him offers 25 days of Scripture, reflection, response, and prayer to help you prepare your heart for Christmas.

Each day follows a simple rhythm:

  • Read: A Bible passage with the Scripture text included.

  • Reflect: A short encouragement connected to the reading.

  • Respond: A question or action to help you put faith into practice.

  • Pray: A brief prayer to guide your time with God.

The readings explore hope, peace, joy, and love, along with the faith of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, and the wonder of those who welcomed Jesus.

The PDF is formatted for letter-size paper in landscape orientation, with two devotions on each daily reading page. Print it at home or read it on your device. Scripture quotations are from the Free Bible Version, with attribution included in the download.

A Simple Way to Make Time for Jesus

Begin December 1 and enjoy one devotion each day through Christmas. Choose a time that fits your routine—over breakfast, after dinner, or during a quiet moment before bed.

You don’t need an elaborate setup. Keep the pages somewhere convenient so it’s easy to return to them each day. If you miss a reading, simply pick up where you left off.

This can be a family Advent devotional or a personal time with God. Read and reflect quietly on your own, or take turns reading and sharing aloud together.

No writing is needed. Younger children can answer in a few words, join an action, or simply listen. There’s no need for everyone to have a polished answer; the questions are invitations to notice, wonder, and grow.

Prefer Devotional Cards You Can Display?

A daily card can serve as a gentle reminder to pause and turn your attention to Jesus during December. If you enjoy having something visible on a shelf, table, or kitchen counter, we offer two card versions of these devotions.

They share the same 25 themes as the free resource, with a few differences. The cards include Bible references to look up, short reflections, prompts, and prayers. The free PDF includes the Scripture text and some expanded or revised response prompts.

Make Your Own Display with Printable Advent Cards

If you enjoy a simple Christmas project, our DIY printable Advent cards let you print, cut, and arrange the devotions in a way that suits your home.

Clip them to a length of twine, tuck them into numbered envelopes, or display one card each day on a small stand. You could also use the cards as part of a Scripture-focused Advent countdown.

It’s a way to create a tradition you can bring out again next Christmas.

You can also make it personal. Add a name or family name to the front cover, a short message inside, or both. It’s a thoughtful way to share an Advent tradition with friends, children, or grandchildren—and leave them a reminder of your love each time they open the tin.
