Prayer Board Kit Instructions: How to Assemble Your inAWE Prayer Board
Your prayer board kit has arrived! This guide will walk you through arranging, assembling, and using your inAWE prayer board step by step.
Your kit includes the printed and matted pieces, prayer envelopes, wooden banner, prayer pocket, blank prayer slips, and supplies needed to create your board. You simply provide the corkboard.
Exact artwork, categories, and number of pieces vary depending on the design you purchased, but the basic assembly process is the same for all of our physical prayer board kits.

Before You Begin
Choose Your Corkboard
We recommend using a corkboard that is at least 17" x 23". The corkboard shown in our photos is available on Amazon if you’d like a similar look and size: View the corkboard HERE.
A larger board gives you even more room for photographs, handwritten Scripture, additional prayer requests, meaningful quotes, or other items you would like to add over time.
Your prayer board does not need to look exactly like our examples. Think of the included pieces as the starting point for creating a prayer space that is uniquely yours.
A Few Differences Between Our Prayer Board Kits
The assembly process is the same for all three designs, but the contents vary slightly.
Daisy includes 16 matted prayer pieces and five prayer categories.
Wildflower includes 20 matted prayer pieces along with coordinating prayer categories, Scripture, quotes, and decorative elements.
Church Hymns includes 13 matted elements, 14 prayer-category titles, and seven A1 envelopes. Choose the seven category titles that best fit the way you want to organize your prayers.
Each kit also includes a wooden banner, prayer envelopes, a preassembled prayer pocket filled with blank prayer slips, attachment supplies, and coordinating decorative elements.
Step 1: Unpack and Sort Your Prayer Board Pieces
Begin by removing everything from the packaging and spreading the pieces out where you can see them.
Separate the wooden banner pieces, envelopes and category titles, prayer pocket, matted cards, decorative elements, push pins, clothespin tacks, and tape runner.
Don’t attach anything to the corkboard yet.
Seeing all of the pieces together first will make it much easier to decide how you want your finished prayer board to look.
Step 2: Assemble Your Wooden PRAY or AMEN Banner
Your kit includes a wooden banner, jute string, and wood beads.
Daisy and Wildflower include a PRAY banner, while Church Hymns includes an AMEN banner.
Thread the banner pieces and beads onto the jute. Before trimming or tying the string, hold the assembled banner over your corkboard so you can judge its width and placement.
QUICK TIP: If the end of the jute begins to fray while you are threading it through the small holes, wrap a tiny piece of tape around the end. This creates a firmer tip and makes threading much easier.
Most people place the banner near the top of the board, but it does not have to be perfectly centered or positioned exactly like our examples.
Step 3: Prepare Your Prayer Envelopes
Your prayer envelopes help you organize prayer requests by topic.
Use the included tape runner to attach the category titles to the envelopes.
Daisy and Wildflower include five envelopes with coordinating categories. Church Hymns includes seven envelopes and 14 category-title options so you can choose the seven that best fit the way you want to organize your prayers.
Each kit includes an Answered Prayers category. When a prayer is answered, move that slip into the Answered Prayers envelope so you can keep it as a reminder of God’s faithfulness.
If you purchased our optional prayer envelope covers, attach them to the front of the envelopes before adding the category titles. We offer 12 patterned paper styles, making it easy to add extra color and personality to your prayer board.

Your kit also includes a preassembled prayer pocket filled with blank prayer slips, making it easy to add a new request whenever one arises.
Step 4: Arrange Everything Before Attaching It
This is the step we recommend spending the most time on.
Lay your corkboard flat and begin arranging the pieces without attaching anything.
Start with the wooden banner near the top of the board. Next, position the prayer envelopes where they will be easy to reach and remove. Add the larger Scripture, quote, and devotional pieces, then fill in the remaining areas with smaller cards and decorative accents.
Place the prayer pocket somewhere convenient so you can easily reach the blank slips.
Then step back and look at the board as a whole. Move things around until the layout feels balanced and useful.
QUICK TIP: Leave a little open space. Your prayer board is meant to grow and change. Empty space gives you room for photographs, Scripture, new prayer requests, answered prayers, or other meaningful items you may want to add later.
Step 5: Attach the Pieces to Your Corkboard
Once you are happy with the arrangement, begin securing everything to the board.
Use the clear push pins for matted Scripture cards, decorative pieces, the prayer pocket, and other elements that you do not expect to remove frequently.
Use the clothespin tacks to hold your prayer envelopes. Because the envelopes will be removed and handled regularly as you add, read, and move prayer slips, the clothespins make them much easier to use without repeatedly pulling a push pin from the corkboard.
Use the tape runner for attaching the paper category titles to the envelopes.
Secure the wooden banner near the top of your board, then attach the remaining pieces according to the layout you created.
One advantage of using a corkboard is that your prayer board never has to remain exactly the same. You can rearrange pieces, change categories, or add new items whenever your needs change.
Step 6: Add Your Prayers and Make the Board Your Own
Now comes the most important part: turning your finished board into a prayer space you will actually use.
When you have a prayer request, take a blank slip from the prayer pocket, write the request, and place it inside the appropriate envelope.
You can also personalize your board with family photographs, names of people you are praying for, handwritten Bible verses, meaningful quotes, church prayer requests, missionary or ministry cards, notes from your journal, or other reminders that are meaningful to you.
Your prayer board does not need to remain perfectly styled. Its purpose is to support your prayer life, not simply decorate your room.
How to Use Your Prayer Board
There is no single right way to use a prayer board.
Some people pray through every category each day. Others focus on one or two envelopes at a time. You might pull one prayer slip from each envelope, pray through a different category on different days, or simply use the board as a visual reminder of the people and situations you want to bring before God.
As circumstances change, add new prayer slips or update existing requests.
And when you see an answer to prayer, move that slip into your Answered Prayers envelope. Over time, that envelope can become a collection of reminders of God’s faithfulness—something you can return to when you need encouragement or simply want to remember the ways you have seen God at work.
Your prayer board should change as your prayers change.

What size corkboard should I use?
We recommend a corkboard that is at least 17" x 23". A larger board gives you more room to personalize your prayer space and add new items over time.
Do I have to use every piece in my kit?
No. We intentionally include plenty of pieces so you can choose the ones that work best for your board. You may have pieces left over, especially if you use the minimum-size corkboard.
Can I rearrange my prayer board later?
Absolutely. One of the benefits of using a corkboard and push pins is that your board can change with you. Move pieces, change categories, add photographs, or refresh the layout whenever you like.
What should I put inside the prayer envelopes?
Write individual prayer requests on the included blank slips. A slip might contain a person’s name, a specific situation, a short prayer, or simply a reminder of something you want to bring before God.
What should I do when a prayer is answered?
Move the prayer slip into your Answered Prayers envelope. Keeping those slips gives you a tangible record of answered prayer and a meaningful reminder of God’s faithfulness over time.
What goes in the prayer pocket?
The prayer pocket comes already assembled and filled with blank prayer slips. When you have a new prayer request, take a slip from the pocket, write your request, and place it inside the appropriate envelope.
Can I add my own photographs or Bible verses?
Yes. We encourage it! Your kit provides the framework, but photographs, handwritten Scripture, meaningful quotes, notes, and other personal items are what make the prayer board uniquely yours.
