ATTRIBUTES OF GOD + BIBLE VERSES
ACCESSIBLE
God has always made Himself near—from walking with Adam and Eve to coming as Jesus Christ. Today, His Spirit lives in every believer, bringing His presence closer than ever.
The Lord is close to all who ask for his help, to all who ask in sincerity. Psalm 145:18
CREATOR
God created everything—seen and unseen—by His powerful word, bringing all things into existence out of nothing.
For everything was created through him - in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, empires, rulers, leaders and authorities - everything was created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16
ETERNAL
God exists outside of time—He has no beginning or end. God has always been and always will be.
Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the universe, from eternity past to eternity future, you are God. Psalm 90:2
FATHER
God is the perfect Father to those who believe in His Son. Through His Spirit, He adopts us into His family and loves, protects, and cares for us forever.
Look at the amazing kind of love the Father has for us! This is why we can be called God’s children - for that’s who we are! 1 John 3:1
FAITHFUL
God always keeps His promises. From the very beginning, He had a plan to save us, and He carried it through by sending Jesus. What God promises, He completes—His love and His plan never fail.
He is the one who has saved us and called us to live a holy life - not through what we do, but by God’s own plan and through his grace. 2 Timothy 1:9
GLORY
God’s glory is the fullness of all His attributes—His power, love, holiness, mercy, and more. Jesus Christ reveals God’s glory completely.
The Word became human and lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
GOOD
God’s goodness is seen in His love, compassion, and care for all people. Even in hardship, He works everything for the good of His children.
The Lord is good to everyone, and he shows mercy to all his created beings. Psalm 145:9
GRACIOUS
God shows undeserved kindness to all people, giving life, good gifts, and forgiveness. His greatest grace is the gift of His Son, whose sacrifice brings us new life and the promise of eternal life in Him.
For you’ve been saved by grace through trusting in him - it’s not through yourselves, it’s the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
HOLY
God is set apart from all creation—perfect in goodness and righteousness. There is no one like Him.
Day and night they never stop saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the All-powerful Lord God, who was, who is, and who is to come.” Revelation 4:8
IMMUTABLE
God never changes. His character, truth, and promises remain the same forever. Because He is constant, we can trust Him completely.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
I
MPARTIAL
God shows no favoritism. He saves people from every background and judges each one with perfect justice.
God has no favorites. Romans 2:11
IMCOMPREHENSIBLE
God’s ways and thoughts are far beyond our understanding. Yet through His Word and Spirit, He has revealed all we need to know about Him.
The Lord our God has secrets that belong to him, but what has been revealed belong to us and to our descendants forever. Deuteronomy 29:29
INFINITE
God has no limits—He has always existed and always will. His power, knowledge, and love are boundless.
Our Lord is great! His power is immense! There’s no limit to what he understands! Psalm 147:5
INVISIBLE
God is Spirit and cannot be seen, but He revealed Himself fully through Jesus Christ. One day we will see Him face to face.
While no one has ever seen God, God the one and only, who is close beside the Father, has shown us what God is like. John 1:18
JEALOUS
God’s jealousy is His protective love for His people. He desires our devotion and pursues us when we turn away.
This is what the Lord Almighty says. I am jealously protective of the people of Zion; I am extremely passionate about them. Zechariah 8:2
JUST
God’s justice is perfect and fair. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, His children will never face the punishment their sins deserve.
He is the Rock. Everything he does is perfect, for all his ways are right. He is the trustworthy God who is never unjust; he is fair and honest. Deuteronomy 32:4
LOVE
God has always been love—Father, Son, and Spirit loving one another before creation. He showed His love for the world by sending Jesus as Savior.
But God demonstrates his love for us in that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:8
MERCIFUL
God’s mercy means He does not give us what our sins deserve. He seeks the lost, forgives the repentant, and restores the broken.
But God in his generous mercy, because of the amazing love he had for us even while we were dead in our sins, has made us alive together with Christ. Trusting in him has saved you! Ephesians 2:4-5
OMNIPOTENT (All-Powerful)
God’s power is unlimited—He created all things and sustains them by His word. Nothing can stop His plans or overcome His strength.
Nothing is impossible for God. Luke 1:37
OMNIPRESENT (Everywhere)
God is present everywhere at all times. No matter where His children are, He is always with them.
Don’t forget what I told you: Be strong! Be brave! Don’t be afraid! Don’t get discouraged! For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
OMNISCIENT (All-Knowing)
God knows everything—past, present, and future. Nothing is hidden from Him, and His judgments are always perfect.
God is greater than how we think, and he knows everything. 1 John 3:20
PATIENT
God patiently holds back judgment so that people may turn to Him. His mercy gives time for repentance before the day of justice comes.
The Lord is not delaying the fulfillment of his promise, as some define delay, but he is being very patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be lost, but everyone to come and repent. 2 Peter 3:9
PERFECT
Everything God is and does is flawless. His ways, His Word, and His judgments are completely right.
God’s way is absolutely right. What the Lord says is trustworthy. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection. Psalm 18:30
PERSON
God is not an impersonal force but a personal being—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He speaks to us through His Word, and we speak to Him in prayer.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14
PRESERVER
God preserves both our lives and our salvation. Nothing and no one can snatch His children out of His hand.
My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life; they shall never be lost, and no one can snatch them from me. John 10:27-28
PROVIDER
God provides for all creation and generously meets the needs of His people. His greatest gift is His Son, Jesus Christ.
God is able to graciously provide you with everything, so that you will always have all you need - with plenty to help others too. 2 Corinthians 9:8
RIGHTEOUS
God is perfectly right in all He does, and His Word is true. Through Christ, He clothes His children in righteousness.
The Lord does right in everything - his actions are always trustworthy. Psalm 145:17
SAVIOR
God rescues sinners through Jesus Christ, who lived the perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again. He saves us fully—from sin’s penalty, power, and one day its presence.
For the Son of man came to search for and save those who are lost. Luke 19:10
SOVEREIGN
God rules over all things, and nothing happens outside His wise control. His plans always come to pass, and He works all things for His glory and our good.
The Lord has set up his throne in the heavens, and he rules over all. Psalm 103:19
WISE
God always uses His knowledge perfectly. All wisdom comes from Him, and His plans and works show His flawless wisdom.
Oh how deep are God’s riches, wisdom and knowledge! How incredible his decisions, how unimaginable his methods! Romans 11:33
