Building Faith in God Through Community: Why We’re Stronger Together
Faith was never meant to be lived alone. From the very beginning, God created us for fellowship.

This post is part of my Building Faith in God series. We’ve already explored how Scripture, worship, and silence deepen our faith. Today, we’re focusing on the beauty of Christian community and how walking with others helps us grow closer to God.
The Power of Christian Community 🌿
Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote in Life Together:

Bonhoeffer understood something we all need to remember—community isn’t just companionship; it’s a spiritual lifeline. When life gets hard, we need people who will remind us of God’s truth when we can’t see it ourselves.
Scripture says...

Faith flourishes when we have people praying for us, walking beside us, and helping us remember who God is and what He’s promised.
My Story: Encouraged by Faithful Friends ✨
When my mom was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia, it was a difficult season filled with uncertainty and sadness. I was studying the Bible with other women through Bible Study Fellowship, and my discussion group leader’s dad had suffered from the same illness.
That connection gave me comfort in ways I can’t fully explain. She and the women in my group surrounded me with prayer, encouragement, and Scripture. Even on weeks when I struggled to focus, they reminded me that faith grows in community—that God uses His people to strengthen and steady us.
Their prayers and presence carried me through that season, and they continue to be a blessing in my walk with God. Here is a short video about this experience and how BSF has been a gift to me in this season of life.
Faith Grows When We Build Each Other Up
God often works through people to answer prayers, offer encouragement, and provide perspective. When we show up for one another—whether it’s through a kind word, a prayer, or simply being present—we participate in God’s work.
Community helps keep us accountable to stay in His Word, live out our faith, and remember His promises. It’s how we reflect His love to a world that desperately needs it.
