How This Book of Bible Verses and Truths Came About

Of all our handmade Christian gifts, I must admit that our Book of Truth is my favorite. Probably because it all started one Christmas season. Well, truthfully, two days before Christmas; I decided that I wanted to make something special and handcrafted for my daughters.

They were pre-teens at the time, and I envisioned a book full of some wisdom I wanted to share with them. After hours sifting through my paper stash – I exaggerate just a little here, but not much – I found just the right paper for each girl and got started creating. I filled their books with some Bible verses, Christian quotes and poems and finished them about 2 AM on Christmas Eve. (This is how I love to spend the wee hours of Christmas morning. Really!)

I count it a win that one out of two girls were able to quickly send me a picture of their book almost 10 years later. Jessica has moved 4 times in the last 4 years, so I am especially impressed. My other girl, Katey, is a college senior, so she gets lots of grace as she currently has other things on her mind. (I know it’s still in her possession because I’ve seen it in the last 12 months.)

These Books of Truth have evolved throughout the years and now (because I’m aware of copyright laws), they include some of my own thoughts/text along with Bible verses from the English Standard Version (permission requested and granted by Crossway).

How We Make our Books of Truth

We start with a chipboard base and then adhere high-quality digital prints to the base. We bind it all together using wire binding. Each book is made by hand – one at a time – with much care and craftsmanship. If you choose to add a name to the cover, we laser-engrave and cut a special material to create the nameplate.

At one time, we only had a personalized version. However, I’ve had more than one momma or grandma want to purchase a book to keep on a nightstand and read to more than one child, and they didn’t want to purchase a book for each one.

With that in mind, I changed the design a bit to allow for a book to be shared among siblings. But, I must say, I truly love the fact that most of our products are personalized, and eventually, those siblings might find themselves in a different location and no longer able to share a truth-filled book.

We currently offer this product in several different styles. It is my hope this year to add at least two more designs. EDIT 12/18/23 > We are now planning to give this product an upgrade and hope to have them added by April 2024.

Each Book of Truth features seven 2-page spreads that include either Bible verses or well-known prayers. Here is a list of each topic and a few examples of the truths shared in the book:

Some Truth About GOD

The first section, Some Truth about GOD, includes 10 truths about God along with a corresponding Bible verse. Here are some examples of the truths in this section of this personalized Christian book:

God is good.

For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and the unjust. - Matthew 5:45

God is graceful.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. – Hebrews 4:16

God comforts.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Some Truth About YOU

You are unique.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. – Psalm 139:13-14

You are loved.

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39

You are forgiven.

Some Truth About FAITH

Some Truth About HOPE

Some Truth About LOVE

1 Corinthians 13:13 says something like this: “So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is…” – some truth about LOVE!

…so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. – Ephesians 3:17-19

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogantor rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” – Matthew 22:37-40

Some Truth About GOD'S PROMISES
